The Middleport and Northeastern Railway constructed its line in 1913-1914 and connected Rockville (near Middleport today) with Calvin and Meigs, at a connection with the Kanawa and Michigan Railway (Norfolk Southern today).
Abandonment of the railroad came in 1938 after only 25 years in operation.
