The Lorberry Creek Railroad was chartered in 1831 to haul coal mined from the region around Lorberry creek in Schuykill County, PA. It branched from the Lebanon and Tremont Railroad at Lorberry Junction, and meandered up to the headwaters of Lorberry Creek near the township of Lorberry; the route included a switchback to handle the steep terrain.
The P&R assumed control of the LCRR in August of 1862, naming it the Lorberry Branch.
The segment of the line beyond the switchback was abandoned in 1940, with the rest of the line abandoned in 1966.
