The Oahe Dam Spur

This short spur line was built in 1944 by the Chicago and North Western Railroad in order to facilitate construction of the Oahe Dam on the Missouri River. North of Pierre, the dam created Lake Oahe. Once construction of the dam was completed, the railroad spur was removed in 1963.
