This former Milwaukee Road line from Milwaukee to Green Bay served the Milwaukee Road until 1985 when its assests where purchased by Soo Line. In 1980, Milwaukee Road sold the tracks west of their Green Bay yard (which ran to Ontanoga, MI) to Escanaba Lake Superior Railroad. Soo Line purchased the tracks from Milwaukee to Green Bay in 1985. Wisconsin Central took over the tracks in 1987 and ran locals from Hilbert to Greenleaf until 2001. It is believed that the tracks from Greenleaf to Green Bay were removed in 1999 or 2000 and the tracks from Hilbert to Greenleaf were removed in 2001 when Canadian National merged Wisconsin Central into their system. This portion of track is now the Fox River state train.
The former Milwaukee Road yard in Green Bay is still used by Canadian National. The line west of the abandoned portion is still used by some Green Bay industries and connects with Escanaba Lake Superior line to Ontanogan, MI.
