This was a CH&D line that became part of the B&O Southwestern. It was abandoned in 1982. The line ran from the B&O main in Chillicothe to Dayton. I have heard that the owner of a hobby shop (can't remember which one) has modeled this entire line. If I can find out I'll post it.

Part of this is currently being completed as a rail-trail. Park service literature lists some completions around Jamestown.

This bike trail is paved and bikeable from Xenia to a little east of Jamestown. As of 2013, there is a tunnel under construction under Route 35 so that bikers won't have to go on roads just east of Xenia.

This rairoad started as part of the Teledo Delphos and Burlington RR narrow gauge who entered Dayton Oh.at Stillwater Jct.The main proponet to build the line was access to cheap lowsmoke coal in the counties around Jackson Oh.The Patterson family famous for starting NCR were Dayton Oh.coal dealer with mines around Jackson. The TD&B controlled a vast network, this line was eventually dual gauged with the Iron Road and reached all the way to Ironton on the route that evetually became the DT&I.After backruptcy the line became part of the CH&D along with the Cincinnati,Toledo Main and was called the Wellston Subdivision,Wellston now being its eastern timetable terminus. After another bankruptcy in 1917 it and the Teledo main became the Teledo Division of the B&O,Now called Wellston Subdivision of the B&O.The line was always opperated by Toledo Div.Crews.After B&O ownership the original route to Wellston was abandoned in places to avoid tunnels, washouts maintaning bridges and used parts of the St.Louis Main and C&O Northern. In the 1960s thru freight to Wellston was stopped and was serviced by locals with locals Toledo Div.crews were even taxied all the way from Dayton to man.The loss of coal fired busines and deindustrialization of Dayton and the area caused the abandonment of the line by CSX in 1982.
