The abandoned railroad route between Van Etten and Ithaca of which 18.554 miles have been abandoned, was once operated in New York by the Lehigh Valley Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Joint appl. of Lehigh Valley RR Co. & Lehigh Valley Ry Co. for authority to abandon 19 miles of railroad and operation therof from a point near village of Van Etten in and through Counties of Chemung and Schuyler in State of New York and to require them to acquire and use in lieu of the tracks to be abandoned trackage, rights over the railroad of Erie Railroad Co. between Waverly and Elmira, a distance of 18.554 miles and also the right to use Erie's trackage rights over a short portion of the tracks of the Pennsylvania RR Co. connecting the Erie tracks and applicants at Elmira, New York, in counties of Tioga and Chemung, New York.
