Sturgis to Kalamazoo, MI

Growing up in the southeastern side of Kalamazoo within sight of the tracks during the post-steam era, I became a Pennsylvania Railroad fan. It was great to see the road freights and way freights pulled by a variety of motive power: EMD F-7 A- & B-units; EMD Geeps, also cabless Geeps; Alco RS-2s; Alco RS-27s; Fairbanks-Morse Erie-Builts; and so on in singles and multi-unit lashups.
Watched trains on this line when we moved to St Jo Co in the mid sixties. Always ratty power, definitely a low priority branch operated by PRR/PC then had a rebirth for a short time in the early Conrail era while they rebuilt the Kalamazoo Secondary of the NYC a few miles east thus allowing for the abandonment of this line he and the NYC Air Line
