Im from south Texas and my family could use more rail service. What if a few of us down there got together and rebuilt a few of these rail roads. I know it sounds over grand but at 1.3 million per mile its doable. If nothing else after a period of time we could sell it to Warren Buffet or his competition or become his competition. ??

There are virtually no public trails, or parks with any extensive trails beyond approximately 1 mile in length in south Texas for use by hikers, bicyclists, or equestrians. If you're just a little guy (in otherworldly, not a large landowner), you basically have little to no access to parkland or trails for outdoor activities (other than the crowded public beaches). I would love to see these abandoned rails turned into a Rails-to-Trails system trailway.
