GOOGLE MAPS no longer available: With apologies, I am unable to continue showing Google Maps. Google has forced my hand by increasing their map usage fee from nothing/free to OVER $300 A MONTH for the Abandoned Rails website! This is an expense that I simply cannot afford. Rest assured I am looking at available open source alternatives, so maps should be back online soon!

The line which originated at Indianapolis was known as the Vincennes & Indianapolis. The tracks ran from the downtown area, just off of Union Station to Vincennes. Penn Central continued to utilize the line until 1980-81, terminating at Niblack Blvd. On the east side of the railroad, tracks have been pulled up from downtown to the Mars Hill area. Abandonment included Vincennes east to Bruceville; Bruceville to Bicknell (which included 4 tracks through the town; Bicknell to Sandborn. Indiana & Southern holds the current line.
