The abandoned railroad route between Daly City and Baden, known as The San Bruno Branch, of which 1.041 miles have been abandoned, was once operated in California by the Southern Pacific Railroad.

the portion of the row from baden to tanforan, as well as the portion from daly city to baden was purchased by BART, and now comprises the southern extension of BART from daly city to sfo/millbrae,. or at least to tanforan junction, the portion of the branch from SSF to tanforan junction is now owned by caltrain with the portion from the mainline to tanforan junction abandoned, and the portion from SSF to the curve in san bruno now being reconstructed as part of caltrain's new 4 track mainline
