Today, there is a rocky beach with algae growing abundantly. Yesterday, there was Potrero Point, a large Western Pacific pier that reached into the San Francisco Bay serving rail ferries to Alameda. Only a single rusty rail remains as evidence of what was, and what is no more. Photo by Andrew Laverdiere, December 2008.
