SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD
Docket Number: 30087 Date: 12/7/1982 Section: 10505
Verified petition for exemption, abandonment of 1.39 miles of its Paris Branch in Lamar County, Texas and to discontinue service over 63.01 miles of Missouri Pacific Railroad Company on the Paris Branch in the counties of Fannin, Grayson and Lamar, TX.
Length: 1.39 miles Citation:

Southern Pacific (T&NO) acquired the Texas Midland RR in 1928.

Texas Midland had its own depot in Paris. In fact, the TM freight depot houses a city or county history museum adjacent the Union Depot.

In its day, the Texas Midland was a crackerjack railroad operating between Paris and Ennis with connections to the Frisco and H&TC.
