This line was built in 1857 under the Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad, and at first extended between Flint and Otter Lake. Eventually the line was completed to Fostoria. Abandonment came in two stages: the first between Otisville and Fostoria in 1955, and the rest of the line by 1987.
Today, the Huckleberry Railroad operates a 3-foot gauge tourist train over part of the route, north of Flint.
