An abandoned railroad line in Shamrock, Pennsylvania, known as The Shamrock Branch, of which 1.37 miles have been abandoned, was once operated in Pennsylvania by the Monongahela Railway and the Pennsylvania Railroad.

What other information on Monongohela Railway abandonments are there. I saw something on the Mather Run grade. that grade was considered the end at the mining co. and there was also a bridge on that grade. A little history lesson the mather mine used to have the largest coal seam in Southwest PA.
