Paxtonville-Kreamer was abandoned with the formation of Conrail in April 1976; the last train from Paxtonville (a brick maker) and Middleburg (several lumber customers, but none consistent enough) was on March 30, 1976.
i noticed alot of abandoned rail around lewistown besides this rail line which is also abandoned.please let me know if any abandoned rail is still in the lewistown area.thank you.
Much of the former S & L Line is still standing and was never removed from Lewistown to Paintersville just south of 522. Some small bridges along the ROW are also still standing from Kreamer, PA to this point.
Thank you Dave for responding.I plan on looking at this rail line when in the area.
