Abandoned Rails of Everett Branch

Peter Lewis shares his pictures of the Milwaukee Road's Everett Branch in Washington.

Peter adds: After the Milwaukee Road discontinued service along this line, a gravel company rehabbed that section of track to move gravel by rail up to the Burlington Northern. Something went wrong with the BN not wanting to use their engines on the line, and the gravel company decided not to buy a switcher of their own, so the tracks remained idle and still exist to this day, although they are quite marooned from the rest of the rail world. They literally are on an island.
