The Chicago, Kalamazoo and Saginaw Railroad was built between Kalamazoo and Hastings in 1888, and ultimately to Woodbury in 1889. In 1906, the line came under control of the Michigan Central (itself under the New York Central Railroad).
The line was abandoned in stages: between Delton and Woodbury in 1937, and further to Richland Junction in 1942.
Today, only a small portion of the line still serves as industrial siding within Kalamazoo proper.
