The abandoned railroad route between B. N. Junction and Gridley of which 52.29 miles have been abandoned, was once operated in Kansas by Leavenworth, Lawrence & Galveston Railroad, the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway and the Burlington, Kansas City & Santa Fe Railroad.

The line between Gridley and Williamsburg was built by the Burlington,Kansas City and Santa Fe (don't know the date) and the line between Williamsburg and Burlington Jct was built by the Leavenworth, Lawrence and Galveston (don't know the date). These two were taken over by the AT&SF and the line was abandoned on 03/22/1971.
