A portion of this line southwest of Race Track Road (near the southern end of the abandonment mapped above) has been abandoned as well and converted to the Washington, Baltimore, and Anapolis (WB&A) Trail, constructed on the right-of-way of the Washington, Baltimore, and Anapolis Railroad which operated from 1887 to 1935. A great deal of information regarding this abandoned rail line and the trail project can be found on the internet.

The PRR actually only owned this line for about a year. It was originally (1908-1935) part of the main line of the Washington, Baltimore & Annapolis Electric Ry.
